Welcome to the BlackRock Mountaineering Club Website!
Based in Scotland since 1996, we're for anyone who wants to enjoy all the the great Scottish outdoors has to offer, with like minded people . We're run on fairly informal lines, and are very welcoming and sociable.
There's no committee or hierarchy here. The club's monthly meets are organised by a group of volunteers, and everyone pitches in. All you need to do to become a member is come along - no formal application or member fees. Just bring yourself.
Members come from all parts of Scotland, and range from Munro baggers to those who prefer gentler pursuits - swimming, cycling, lower walks, even photography. Typically we gather on a Friday, chat about who's doing what, and head out the following day. Then we reconvene in the evening for a communally produced and shared meal and a chinwag. We also have some special regular features in our calendar - our Burns Supper, Halloween, Christmas lunch and Hogmanay are all popular and great fun.So if you want to make new friends, bag some Munros, or simply enjoy the wonderful Scottish countryside, come along and give us a go.
